How to Edit a Post on Facebook

For those times when you second-guess yourself or want to share more (or less) information, you can edit a post on Facebook by following these steps:

There's no time limit on editing a Facebook post. You can do it any time you want.

  1. Select the three dots next to a post to open a list of options.

Select Edit Post.

How to Delete a Photo From a Facebook Post

You can remove a photo from a Facebook post without deleting the post. Here's how to do it:

  1. Select the three-dot or down-arrow icon on the post with the photo you want to delete.

Hover over the photo you want to delete until an X appears in the upper-right corner of the photo. Select the X to delete the photo.

You can't delete photos you shared from a third party.

How to Edit a Comment on Someone Else's Facebook Post

As with things you post on your timeline, think twice about a comment you made on someone else's post. Here's how to edit it:

  1. Find the comment you want to edit.

Select Edit.

You can also choose to delete the comment by selecting Delete instead of Edit.

How to Add a Photo to a Facebook Post

Say you went to an event and created a post about it. Later, your friend sends you some more great pictures. You can add them easily using the steps below.

  1. On your timeline, scroll to the post you want to add photos to.

You see the photos in the post, plus a dotted photo outline with a plus-sign inside it. Select the plus sign. On the Facebook app, tap the photo icon at the bottom of the screen.
